Background:
In the first week of June, our own Dr. Priscilla Layne was invited on a prominent German political talk show to discuss the protests against police violence in the United States. Shortly after this invitation and before her TV appearance, she learned that the program had already received a great deal of backlash for initially planning an all-white panel to discuss issues of anti-Black violence. The following article from the German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel describes how this situation rendered ongoing racism in Germany more visible.
