Kajal has obtained B.A. and M.A. in German studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India. His M.Phil. dissertation focused on the representation of trauma in the German novels of the post-Wende period. His current research interests include German idealism, critical theory, theory of art and aesthetics, contemporary social and political thought, and the Black aesthetic tradition. In his free time, he enjoys watching classical European and Indian movies and reading Indian, in particular, Bengali literary works.
