Nathan Drapela

Graduate Student

Nathan received his B.A. in philosophy from Western Washington University in 2014. After spending two years in Bregenz, Austria as an English teaching assistant, he joined the Carolina-Duke Program in 2017. His current research focuses on narrative fiction from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He is particularly interested in questions regarding narrative structure, the construction of selfhood, and two-way mimetic relations between life and literature. Nathan also maintains an active interest in aesthetics, moral psychology, and the work of Friedrich Nietzsche.
