Alec earned his B.A. in German from Colorado College in 2017. For his thesis, he compared Germany and Italy’s societal reactions to fascism through the lens of Volker Schlöndorff’s die Blechtrommel and Federico Fellini’s Amarcord. Alec spent two years working as an English Teaching Assistant in Austria, first in Vienna and then Innsbruck. He is interested in film theory and memory studies, particularly in the former German speaking territories of Eastern Europe and Northern Italy. Outside of class, Alec enjoys playing tennis, ice hockey, and travel.
