Sandra Niethardt AATG Graduate Student Essay Contest winner

Congratulations to Sandra Niethardt, on her essay, "Offene Welt – Beschränktes Glück: Jean Pauls das Leben des vergnügten Schulmeisterlein Wutz“ als literarisches Zeugnis einer Übergangsepoche,” chosen as this year’s winner of the American Association Teachers of German (AATG) Graduate Student Essay competition! There were a large number of strong submissions this year. However, it was agreed by all involved in the selection process, that Sandra’s was the best argued, best written and most polished of those that was submitted. The official announcement will occur at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) conference in San Antonio, Texas in November. Being chosen as the winner of this contest, her essay will automatically be accepted for publication in The German Quarterly. What a very impressive achievement!
