Julia Engellandt

Julia holds a BA in teaching in German Studies and Russian from Humboldt University of Berlin and received an MA in German Studies from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 2024. Their thesis comprised a twofold analysis of German playwright Olivia Wenzel’s debut novel, 1000 Coils of Fear, read through an aesthetic and a postcolonial lens. Their research interests include postcolonialism, decolonization, canon criticism, and marginalized literatures. In addition, Julia has gained experience in German language teaching as a DAAD fellow through the Deutschlehren.international program at the University Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, Macedonia, and as a graduate instructor at MU.
