Joyous Celly

Joyous Celly earned her B.A. (Hons.) in German Language and Cultural Studies and an M.A. in German Literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. In 2022, she was awarded the Freiburg Global Exchange Scholarship, facilitated by DAAD, and visited the Albert Ludwigs University, Freiburg. 

Her M.A. dissertation entailed research on the topic “An analysis of the fragmentary novel ‘Henry of Ofterdingen’ by Novalis, using the theoretical framework of Friedrich Schlegel,” explored such themes, as universal poetry, literary fragmentation and the philosophical whole. Currently, her research revolves around German Idealism and German Romanticism, with an emphasis on Critical Theory, trying to explore intersections of aesthetics, poetics and philosophy.
