Richard "Tres" Lambert

Graduate Student

Tres received a BA in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. Through various exchanges and programs, he has also spent time at the Free University of Berlin, the University of Heidelberg, the University of Duisburg-Essen, and the University of Vienna. In 2014, Tres was awarded a Fulbright Grant to conduct dissertation research at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institut für Geschichte und Gesellschaft in Vienna, Austria. His dissertation examines the intersection of experience, language, and the experiment in the late Modernist novels of Hermann Broch and Robert Musil. More broadly, Tres’s research interests include: Austrian Literature, German-language Modernism, Science in Literature, and theories of language. In his free time, Tres enjoys cooking, sipping coffee, and exploring North Carolina and Europe with his wife, Christen, and his dog, Effi.
