Paul Roberge

Paul Roberge is professor of Germanic languages, joint professor of linguistics, and Chair of the Department of Linguistics at UNC-CH. He also holds the title of professor extraordinary of general linguistics at Stellenbosch University (South Africa). His areas of research interest include: historical linguistics; comparative Germanic grammar; older Germanic dialects (especially Gothic, Old High German, Old Saxon, and Old Norse); pidgins and creoles; the origin and evolution of human language; sociolinguistics; Afrikaans; South African Literature.
