John Gill

Graduate Student

John Gill comes from Alamance County, North Carolina and received his BA in Philosophy and German Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009. After working as a digital archivist for the Internet Archive for a few years, John joined the Carolina-Duke Graduate Program in German Studies in 2013. His current research interests include 19th and early 20th century German intellectual culture, with a focus on the political writings of the German Romantics. He is also interested in the role of literature in the German context of failed revolutionary movements from the French Revolution to 1918.
